Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) conducts a state-level examination called COMEDK UGET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) to offer admissions to interested candidates in engineering and medical degree courses offered by colleges/institutes that are affiliated to COMEDK.

COMEDK UGET 2018 exam will be conducted on May 13, 2018, across many cities in India for admissions to various UG programmes. COMEDK UGET scores are accepted by more than 150 engineering colleges, 12 medical colleges and 25 dental colleges in the state of Karnataka.

The duration of BE course through COMEDK UGET is four years and that of MBBS course is four and a half years. On the other hand, duration of BArch and BDS course is five years and four years respectively. Please note that there is no entrance test for BArch courses as admissions are based on NATA while admissions to MBBS courses are based on NEET.

COMEDK UGET 2018 Eligibility

Candidates seeking admissions at engineering, medical and dental colleges in the state of Karnataka have to satisfy multiple eligibility criteria of COMEDK UGET. The course wise COMEDK UGET 2018 eligibility criteria is as follows:

Eligibility Criteria for Engineering courses

Candidates are eligible to apply for COMEDK UGET if they fullfill the following eligiblity criteria:

1) The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government; the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject.

2) The General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or any other technical vocational courses as one of the optional subjects. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE will be adopted.

3) Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions.

An attempt in the COMEDK Entrance Test seeking admission to Engineering courses is considered adequate for figuring in the rank list.

Eligibility Criteria for Architectural courses

Candidates are eligible to apply for COMEDK UGET 2018 if they:

1) The prescribed qualifying examination for admission to B. Arch course is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained atleast 50% marks in aggregate (45% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka.

2) The candidates should have appeared for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture with a minimum score of 80 out of 200 marks for both General Merit and Category students.

Important:

Architecture aspirants don’t need to take COMEDK UGET 2018. To seek admissions they have to fill a separate application form for COMEDK UGET 2018.

COMEDK UGET 2018 Process

Step 1: Register for COMEDK UGET

The first and foremost step is to register for COMEDK UGET on the official website. The application form is available online and the fee for candidates attempting three subjects is Rs 1200 (PCM) and for candidates attempting both COMEDK AND UniGAUGE is Rs 2000.

Step 2: Download COMEDK UGET 2018 Admit card

Aspirants can download COMEDK UGET 2018 admit card from the official website which will be made available in the month of April. The admit card will have details like Candidate’s Name, Address, contact details, test centres etc.

Step 3: Appear for COMEDK UGET 2018

COMEDK UGET is conducted in the month of May. Aspirants are advised to reach the exam centre at least an hour before commencement of the exam.

Step 4: Check COMEDK UGET 2018 exam result

COMEDK UGET 2018 exam result will be declared in the month of May. Only those who are eligible will be able to view the same under the ‘applicant login’ section of the website. The result will have a candidate’s merit position, score-card with total marks, marks obtained in each subject.

Step 5: Appear for COMEDK UGET Counselling

Aspirants who clear the exam need to appear for COMEDK UGET 2018 counselling which will be held in the month of June and July.
