KEAM 2016 – KEAM or Kerala Engineering Agriculture Medical Entrance Examination is conducted by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala Government for admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes across various government colleges, government sponsored self-financing colleges and private self-financing colleges in the state of Kerala. KEAM 2016 will be conducted on April 25, 2016 (for Physics & Chemistry – Paper-I), from 10 am to 12.30 pm, while the paper for Mathematics (Paper-II) will be conducted on April 26, 2016, from 10 am to 12.30 pm. Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit marks obtained in KEAM 2016 and the marks obtained in class XII or equivalent in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the ratio of 50:50. Candidates, who will qualify in this entrance exam, will be given admissions to over 56,000 engineering seats in the state.

KEAM 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on December 31, 2016. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit for KEAM.

Candidates, who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together, are eligible.

KEAM 2016 Application Form

Application Form of KEAM 2016 are available from Jaunary 3, 2016 and aspiring candidates can submit the KEAM 2016 Online Application Form till Jaunary 29, 2016. There are seven steps for the online submission of KEAM 2016 Application and all the steps are mandatory.

KEAM 2016 Exam Pattern

Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala will conduct KEAM 2016 Paper I – Physics & Chemistry and Paper II – Mathematics.

Total Number of questions in each paper: 120 questions
Total marks for each paper: 480
Paper duration: 150 minutes

All questions will be of multiple choice type. Each correct answer will be awarded four marks and for every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted from the total score. No marks will be deduced for unattempted questions.

KEAM 2016 Admit Card

Download of KEAM 2016 Admit Card will begin from March 28, 2016 onwards. Candidates will have to enter their application number and date of birth provided in the application form in order to download it. They will have to take a printout of the admit card. Help desks and facilitation centres will be functioning across Kerala from where candidates can download and take printouts of admission ticket. The venue of the examination and time table will be written on the admit card. Candidates should bring their Admit card to the examination hall.

KEAM 2016 Participating Institutes

Participating Institutes of KEAM 2016 include government colleges, government sponsored self-financing colleges and the private self-financing colleges in the state of Kerala. In 2015, total seats in engineering colleges were around 57, 000 (including agricultural engineering seats, food engineering seats and dairy science & technology seats).

KEAM 2016 Counselling:

The Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) of KEAM 2016 will be done through the Single Window System (SWS) to give allotments to the various courses and colleges under the engineering programmes in Kerala, based on the options submitted by candidates, who have been included in the rank list. This is a system of ‘Allotments through online submission of options. CAP, through which the options are registered, is a simple and transparent process of allotment to the professional degree courses. It gives the candidate opportunity to exercise his/her options for courses and colleges of his/her choice conveniently in the order of his/her preference considering all those available to be chosen from.

KEAM 2016 Important Dates
